Our Favourite Celebrity Weddings

Let’s be honest, we love a good wedding, and at Manor By The Lake we’re blessed to play host to plenty of amazing marriage ceremonies and celebrations. With the end of the year drawing ever closer, we thought it would be a good moment to round up our favourite celebrity weddings of 2016 and perhaps you can steal some star style for your very own wedding day.

Laura Trott and Jason Kenny

Team GB favourites Laura and Jason who share a staggering ten Olympic gold medals between them, married in Cheshire in September. Shunning a lucrative magazine deal, the couple surprised everyone with the announcement that they’d married, and shared a few images of their special day with the media.

We loved Laura’s Naomi Neoh dress with its sweetheart bodice and detachable lace sleeves. Her gorgeous bridesmaids wore lilac dresses from Coast and clutched pastel rose hand-tieds that matched the bride’s bouquet.

The caring couple asked for donations to be made to charity, Dementia UK in lieu of wedding gifts. Aaahhhh.

Heidi Range and Alex Partakis

We loved the images of Sugababe Heidi Range’s gorgeous Tuscan wedding in early September. The beautiful Italian countryside outside Florence was the setting for this glamorous event with Heidi looking stunning in a Suzanne Neville gown, while her bridesmaids wore dramatic black full length dresses. With the men looking dapper in crisp tuxedos, it was an incredibly stylish event.

The couple married outdoors under a floral arch which we would love to recreate here at Manor By The Lake. On a beautiful sunny day, the happy couple were seen celebrating with glasses of rose as they enjoyed an afternoon reception with their nearest and dearest.

Ciara and Russell Wilson

The American singer became a princess for the day with her fairytale wedding at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire this July. Marrying her Seahawks football star beau Russell Wilson, the couple exchanged vows in front of 100 guests, most of whom had travelled from the USA for the lavish celebrations.

Celebrity guests included singers Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Rowland, while bridesmaid Serena Williams had to pull out at the last minute as she made it through to the Wimbledon quarter finals.

The bride wore a custom couture gown by Roberto Cavalli that featured elaborate embroidery and intricate lace applique detailing, as well as a lace up bodice with a dramatic plunging neckline.

Earth, Wind and Fire provided the music as the party carried on until the early hours. We wish we’d been invited!

Kimberley Walsh and Justin Scott

2016 was the year that Kimberley of Girls Aloud finally married her long term partner Justin in the idyllic surroundings of Barbados. The lavish celebrations took place over three days and included a cocktail party the night before the big day, and a sunset cruise on the day after their wedding ceremony.

Guests were invited to indulge in Barbadian hospitality, and enjoy all the treats of the island including swimming with turtles, and a beach party where the rum punches were free-flowing!

Making sure their bestie was looking gorgeous at all times were bandmates and bridesmaids Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nicola Roberts, while celeb pal Denise van Outen also made the trip to the Caribbean to see her good friend tie the knot.

If you’d like some advice on how to steal their celebrity style, our Manor By The Lake wedding planners would love to hear from you.
