Daniela & Matt’s Spring Wedding Day

The Story

What made Manor By The Lake stand out for you?

We were looked after incredibly well throughout the whole process. Especially on the wedding day itself, we didn’t have to worry about a thing – everything ran so smoothly and the team made sure every detail was taken care of so we could fully relax and enjoy the day.

Tell us about your wedding journey in the lead up to your wedding and how did you feel?

We felt like we were in very capable and experienced hands throughout the entire process. Whatever we asked for, the team did their best to make it possible and were always so helpful and accommodating. As one of us is German, it was especially lovely that we could include a German touch through the food choices, which made the day feel even more personal to us and our families.

With several ceremony spaces available, where did you choose and why?

Even though we ideally wanted to get married at the Pavilion, we ended up getting married in the Maximilian because of the weather. We absolutely loved both options, so we were genuinely happy either way. The Maximilian is such a stunningly beautiful room and created such a lovely atmosphere for the ceremony. It was especially exciting for the German guests too, as the whole venue gave them a mix of Downton Abbey and Bridgerton vibes, which they absolutely loved.

Favourite moment of the day?

So many to choose from! We loved the ceremony, the confetti moment, and of course the party!! Every part of the day felt so special in its own way and it was amazing being able to celebrate with all of our family and friends from start to finish.

Tell us all about your food! What did you choose and why?

The food was incredible! We chose a Greek mezze for the starter, which we would highly recommend, followed by a German goulash for the main course and a lemon tart for dessert. Every course was amazing and it was so lovely being able to include food choices that felt personal to us. Later in the evening, we opted for Italian food, which was the perfect choice for the later hours and went down brilliantly with our guests.

With unlimited photo opportunities, where was your favourite spot?

Our favourite spot was directly in front of the Manor — and, when turning 180 degrees, looking back down the path. Also the arch next to the entrance 😊 The grounds are so beautiful from every angle, and these spots made the perfect backdrop for our photos. We loved how elegant and romantic everything looked, especially with the Manor in the background.

Tell us about your evening reception, did you party the night away?

Oh yes! It was the perfect venue for a great party. Our band created a fantastic atmosphere, and we danced through the night.

Did either of you stay the night before in the cottage or lodge?

Neither of us stayed overnight in the cottage or lodge the night before. However, I (Daniela) got ready in the cottage on the morning of the wedding, which was absolutely lovely. It was a beautiful space and made everything feel calm, easy, and well organised for me, my mum, and my bridesmaids.

Did you and your overnight guests enjoy the afterparty experience?

We most certainly did! It was a wonderful way to round off an already fantastic day, made even better by knowing we could simply fall into bed afterwards without any travelling. A truly perfect end to the celebration.

Any suppliers that you would recommend to others? Perhaps your photographer or florist?

Highly recommend my photographer Christophe Bourgeois, Nadezhda Hardiman for make up and hair and Caroline Kohut from Freckle Flowers
