The Story
Who proposed and how did it happen? Bonus Q: Was it a surprise?
We had a double proposal in Santorini, and it was a complete surprise for both of us! 🤣
What made Manor By The Lake stand out for you?
Everything was perfect. We viewed a lot of different venues, but when we found Manor By The Lake, we completely fell in love with the Manor and knew it was the one for us.
Tell us about your wedding journey in the lead up to your wedding and how did you feel?
We were really excited! The lead-up was actually quite relaxed and there wasn’t much stress until the week before the wedding, haha. It all started to feel very real then!
What was your theme? Any favourite unique touches?
We went for a black and white theme, with lots of personalised aspects throughout the day. The personalised touches were some of our favourite details.
With several ceremony spaces available, where did you choose and why?
We originally wanted to have our ceremony outdoors, but changed our plans to the Maximillian Room on the morning of the wedding. Luckily, the sun came out just in time for confetti and drinks afterwards, so we still got to enjoy some time outside.
What were the 3 most important ‘must-haves’ at your wedding?
Fun, love and lots of pictures! Those were the three things that mattered most to us when it came to our wedding day.
Favourite moment of the day?
The speeches and the meal were some of our favourite moments. We loved seeing everyone having fun and enjoying themselves, especially our table captains!
With unlimited photo opportunities, where was your favourite spot?
The Yew Tree Walk and in front of the Manor were our favourite spots for photos.
What was your favourite space/area at Manor By The Lake? Why was this your favourite space and how did you use it?
We loved the new Garden Room! But honestly, all of the rooms and grounds are stunning, so it was difficult to choose just one favourite space.
Any funny stories or unusual anecdotes from the day?
Our grandparents were late, so we had to wait 15 minutes before things could get going. Nobody told Nathan what was happening, so he was worried that the wedding wasn’t happening! It was stressful at the time, but we can laugh about it now.
Tell us about your evening reception, did you party the night away?
Yes! We went straight from our first dance into the band with sax, so the evening celebrations got started straight away.
Did either of you stay the night before in the cottage or lodge? Did you enjoy being closer the night before?
Yes! We stayed in the cottage and absolutely loved it. It was so nice being able to stay there the night before.
Any suppliers that you would recommend to others?
We would definitely recommend Bloom and Bride Styling, Capriccio, Duncan Cox Photography, The Henry’s Videographer, Charlotte Jones Illustration and Dance Avenue Band.
If you had 3 pieces of advice you could offer to future couples getting married, what would they be?
Don’t stress, enjoy every moment because it goes so fast! And try to have as many photos as you can — you’ll want to have lots of memories to look back on.
