Eric & Elizabeth – Spring wedding

What made you choose Manor By The Lake as your wedding venue?

The beautiful scenery and location, it’s very easy to access!

What were the top two most important things that you wanted for your wedding?

Good food and a beautiful venue for photographs.

What food did you have?

For Canapes, we chose Steak and Chips with Bearnaise sauce and sun blushed tomato, Smoked Chicken with lemon and caper mayonnaise, Thyme Roasted Shallot Quiche and Prawn Cocktail.

For starters, we chose two options, Crispy Shredded Duck Leg with spring onion and cucumber salad with a ginger and coriander dressing and Confit Chicken and Chorizo Terrine with watercress, pickled vegetables.

We chose to add a Lemon sorbet palate cleanser in between the starters and mains.

For mains, we chose Pan Roasted Chicken Supreme with parsnip fondant, buttered carrot, steamed spinach, duck fat potatoes and wild mushroom jus as well as Slow Roasted and Rolled Lamb with braised white cabbage, steamed long stem broccoli, roasted potato cake and a carrot and coriander jus.

For dessert, we had a Rhubarb and Ginger panna cotta with cinnamon palmiers and then a White Chocolate Mousse served with dark chocolate brownie and strawberry and mint salad.

For the evening food, we chose Sweet and Sour Chicken served with duck spring rolls, vegetable spring rolls, vegetable fried rice and prawn crackers.

How many bridesmaids did you have and what colour were they wearing?

We had 2 bridesmaids and they wore burgundy.

How did you dress Manor By The Lake?

Manor By The Lake’s in-house Creative Designer/Florist worked with us and provided the table dressing, chair decor and flower arrangements for us. We had Champagne colour sequin overlays, alternating ivory and nude colour chiffon verticals on the chairs and beautiful silver candelabras with wreaths.

We created our own table plan using items from Hobbycraft as well as from our own crafting supplies.

What was your first dance song?

It was At Last By Etta James.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

It was a truly wonderful day but we wish we had taken more advantage of the photo booth. We also were thinking that a Karaoke set up would have been wicked!
