What made Manor By The Lake stand out for you?
The venue is truly amazing inside and out, with so many beautiful spaces throughout the day, but what really sold it to us was the rock bar.It felt so unique and completely different to anywhere else we viewed, and we could instantly picture ourselves celebrating there with all of our guests.
Tell us about your wedding journey in the lead up to your wedding and how did you feel?
We booked a last minute wedding at Manor By The Lake. It was so fast paste since we booked in January 2026 and our wedding was on 21.03.26. But with the help of the Manor by the Lake team it made it seem less stressful and was so helpful that I didn’t actually stress until maybe the last 4 days leading up to the date. But this was because of my idea of making things myself!
What was your theme? Any favourite unique touches?
The theme was bees, as we met on the dating app Bumble, so it felt really personal to us and tied everything together perfectly. One of my favourite unique touches was definitely the centrepieces that I made myself. I was so happy with how they turned out, and a few guests even asked if they could take one home at the end of the night, which was so lovely to hear.
With several ceremony spaces available, where did you choose and why?
We chose to get married outside by the Manor Arches. The façade was just incredible and from the moment we saw it, I knew the photos would turn out amazing. It also worked really well for us having our son involved in the day,in his electric car, which made the moment even more special and memorable.
Favourite moment of the day?
It’s very hard to pick just one favourite moment because we honestly loved every second of the day. Having the sun out and the warm weather made everything feel even more special, and seeing all of our family and friends out in the gardens enjoying themselves together was just amazing. It was such a lovely atmosphere and something we’ll always remember.
Tell us all about your food! What did you choose and why?
Everyone said all 3 courses was amazing. And it was. We had the tomato soup (some guests said their bowls where white again after the finished) a few had tandoori, which was lovely. Mains we had Lamb shoulder – this just melted in your mouth was just incredible, and the Chicken Supreme which again we were told it was just amazing. Dessert we had lemon tart which was perfect and light as we hoped it would be. We were even told that the parents were shocked that their kids ate all their meals. With unlimited photo opportunities, where was your favourite spot?
Our favourite photo spot was definitely around the lake. The scenery was so beautiful and peaceful, and it made the perfect backdrop for our wedding photos. We loved being able to take a quiet moment together there while capturing some really special memories from the day.

Tell us about your evening reception, did you party the night away?
The evening reception was lovely and everyone had such a great time celebrating together. Our guests especially really enjoyed the Mexican evening food, which went down so well after such a big day. Me and Josh made sure we stayed right until the very end so we could enjoy every last moment with all of our family and friends.
I would 100% recommend our photographer, Abbey Pople from a.ephotography_weddings. She was amazing throughout the whole day and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. The photos turned out beautifully and captured every special moment perfectly.
